Self-isolation and social distancing doesn’t mean we can’t have parties. Lots of people are holding online parties using zoom, skype and other online platforms. And you can still dress up!

State of Origin Parties

Not just one party – but three!

On three cold winter Wednesday nights each year the Maroons and the Blues do their thing while everyone else watches and parties.

State of Origin Party Food

Watching football is hungry work so make sure there is plenty, and perhaps some reserves of nibbles (eg potato chips, crackers and cheese, nuts) in case the night is long.

  • Footy food – pies, pizza, hotdogs, hamburgers, chips.  Lots of warm finger food that's easily transportable.  You don't want anyone stuck at the dinner table when the game is about to start.
  • Beer! – Check out the range at Dan Murphy's and save time with home delivery or order online to “click and collect”
  • Make some cupcakes and use food colouring to make the icing the appropriate colours.  If you can't bring yourself to make blue icing, use white and put blue or red Smarties or M&Ms on top. See our cake page for a scrumptious butter cake recipe.
